Toronto Island Reunion 2008
August 2 - 4, 2008, AIA clubhouse
A group of ex-Islanders and Islanders has formed, calling itself the Toronto Island Connection. They are fully engaged in planning a Reunion on Gala Day Weekend, at the AIA clubhouse, and want you to involve yourself if you feel so inclined. To do so, first join the group through the above link. The site includes many photos from people's personal photo collections, and stories and reminiscences of Island life. There are currently 171 members from near and far.
Activities planned for Saturday at the clubhouse include:
- Coffee house atmosphere, drop in & chat. Bring your old photos!
- 'Island people and places' slide shows
- Reunion dinner
- Raffles, prizes, and more
Plans for Sunday include:
- Coffee house atmosphere drop-in at the AIA clubhouse
- Special service at St. Andrew-by-the-lake Anglican church
- After-church picnic lunch
- Tour of Gibraltar Point lighthouse
- Tour of 'the two schools' (the old IPS (now the Gibraltar Point Centre of the Arts), and the Island Public Natural Science School)
